If you haven't met me yet, my name is Tara Bowersock. My
husband's name is Scott and we have a three year old daughter her name is
Cinthia Ray.
I grew up in Newport, New Hampshire where I graduated from
high school and that's when I made my commitment to Christ. Even though I grew
up in a church it wasn't enough. The summer of 1985 when I was 13 years old I
was in Mt. Union Pennsylvania at a Christian concert weekend, it was there when
I realized that Christ died for me! So after I made my commitment they had a
baptism ceremony so I could show the world that Christ is my savior. I had a
tough upbringing through high school, with mean people picking an me for many
reasons, my weight, my religion and etc. In the fall of my senior year I felt
that God was calling me to do something more. I came to Fort Wayne and enrolled
in Christian College. My mother suddenly died in my freshman year which was a
tragic event in my life. I thank God I had my father who was my physical
lifesaver, he knew all the right things to say to help me feel better. He also
made sure I didn't forget that Christ died for me and He has everything worked
out. Isn't that what God wants for us? To realize that He is our lifesaver and
all we need to do is ask for His blessings.
I met Scott Bowersock of Zanesville, Indiana at Summit
Christian College, now Taylor University Fort Wayne. We worked together in the
Gerig Activity Center for two years. I was the housekeeping supervisor and he
was the sound system supervisor so it was inevitable that we would finally hook
up. We dated for several years before we got married. Meanwhile, we both
finished college. Scott graduated in 93 with a B.S. degree in Business and Bible
and I graduated in 94 with a B.S. degree in Psychology. After another two years
of dating we finally got married on July 19, I997· Scott lost both of his
grandfathers that following January, which was also a traumatic time in our
lives.
With everything else that was happening during our first year
of marriage I found out that I was pregnant. I was scared to death. When I told
Scott that he was going to be a father for the first time, he was elated,
nervous and scared just like I was. We weren't financially able to bring a child
into this world, but we knew we didn't want to give up that precious gift of
life God has entrusted us with.
We moved to Zanesville, closer to his family, so that grandpa
& grandma would be able to enjoy their soon to be grandbaby. On September
11, 1998 I gave birth to the most beautiful girl in the world. I thought to
myself "Now my life is complete. I have a husband, daughter and a home,
what more could I ask for." A little later on I felt that I was missing too
much of my daughters life working so many hours away from home. After much
prayer God brought this opportunity for me to work part-time at the Zanesville
Community Church of God. God does answer prayer. Amen?
Being a wife and mother are the key most important things in
my life. Looking back I see how God has guided my life. Especially now, I know
that without a shadow of a doubt that this is where God has lead me, to be part
of the Zanesville Community Church of God's lives as church secretary. I thank
the Church for this opportunity for letting me do something I enjoy doing. |
