I am writing to update you about the Alive and Well Abstinence Education Program. We have raised about $7,000 so far. We are hoping to raise at least another $20,000. Four teachers have renewed their training certificates and we have been working very hard to update student notes, get supplies, make posters etc. Last week we taught 4 classes of students at Bluffton Middle School and we are finishing up 4 classes at Norwell this week. We are very thankful for those of you who have made this possible. If we have enough funding, we will continue to teach abstinence courses throughout the school year to Bluffton, Norwell, Southern Wells and the Wells County Alternative School. We have also been in contact with our private schools and are discussing the possibility of providing the Christian school version of these courses to their students. We are applying for a variety of grants and hope to receive some funding through them. Also, we are very excited to announce that an anonymous donor has made an offer to match all future donations that we receive this year (up to $10,000). If you are able to make a donation to Alive and Well, could you please send it to House of Hope before the end of December so that it will be matched? Be sure to write Alive and Well in the memo. Thank you so much for your prayers and support! Please pass this message on to anyone who may be interested in helping Wells County teens make wise, healthy choices. Thanks, Wendy Bailey |
