Lay Leadership

This group monitors Christian spiritual leadership.  As with the other committees, the chairperson for lay leadership reports to the Church Council.

Lay leadership is tasked with identifying, developing, deploying, and evaluating spiritual leadership gifts within the church membership.  They recruit and nurture spiritual leaders and guide them in training and development.

A lay leadership committee is required by the United Methodist Church, proving the importance of leadership within the church.  This team must be diverse in its structure with members varying in age and gender.  This allows for a mix of ideas and experiences in deciding the who, what, when, where, and how of leadership opportunities and growth options at ZUM.  Appointed positions include the chairperson (pastor), lay leader, and chair.  All other positions are nominated with members being required to continue their own personal growth in their spiritual walk with Christ.
